It’s the countless hours, days and weeks of contemplation required by an artist to be able to see the work evolve and take shape in his/her minds eye. How the paint will look. What does it mean? What questions are being asked? How will it be finished? Where will the work be shown at? This is called Context.
The process takes time. And when the time comes for work to begin – It happens quickly. When it’s time to show the work, everything which was important to the artist has already come and gone. So, go see good art shows. You are completing the process for the artist – and in doing so – making the world a fuller, richer place to be in.
